Happy Hour with APA Candidates Running for Office in SF

Assessor Recorder Phil Ting and school board candidates Bayard Fong, Jane Kim, Hydra Mendoza and Wilma Pang are among the Asian American candidates vying for office in San Francisco who plan to attend a casual meet-and-greet happy hour with young Asian American voters on Tuesday, October 24, at Louie’s Bar and Grill (sflouies.com) at 55 Stevenson. The free event takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Public Defender Jeff Adachi and Asian American candidates running for supervisor, city college board and school board were also invited to participate.

Candidates will be given two minutes to introduce themselves and attendees will be encouraged to ask questions in small groups following the program. Organizers are crafting the event as a more casual way for voters in their ’20s and ’30s to meet candidates one-on-one. More than 100 are expected to attend.

The event is being sponsored by hapihour.org, a happy hour series that raises awareness of Asian American and Pacific Islander nonprofits, and the local chapter of APAs for Progress (apaforprogress.org), a national network seeking to increase AAPI involvement in local and national politics. We are requesting RSVPs via email.
